Job summary

Family Health Centers at NYU Langone is actively seeking a Licensed Practical Nurse for the Park Slope Family Health Center. The LPN assists the Registered Nurse in implementing the nursing process for assigned patients under RN direction.

Qualified candidates hold a NYS LPN license and BLS certification, with 1–2 years of hospital-based nursing experience preferred and bilingual abilities to meet site needs.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited school of nursing.
• 1-2 years of hospital-based nursing experience.
• Willingness to complete tasks on schedule.
• NYS LPN License.
• Bilingual based on site needs.
• BLS Certification required at hire and maintained.

Responsibilities

• Implements care in a knowledgeable, skillful, consistent and continuous manner, considering age and development.
• Demonstrates cultural competence and respect for coworkers and patients.
• Administers medications and vaccines as ordered by the provider.
• Communicates patient care needs to ancillary staff and follows up.
• Observes and documents changes in patient condition to RN/PSC/Provider promptly.
• Provides health education and documents responses in the medical record.
• Prepares patients for diagnostic or operative procedures and utilizes resources.
• Performs and/or assists with treatments/procedures.
