Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited school of nursing.
• Unrestricted current LPN license to practice nursing in NYS required.
• 1–3 years of recent experience preferred.
• Excellent communication and customer service skills.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and electronic medical records (EMR) preferred.
• CPR certification preferred

Responsibilities

• Prepare the patient for the exam by performing preliminary tests.
• Report relevant information to the provider.
• Assist the provider with patient care as requested.
• Obtain cultures and collect samples as needed.
• Review treatment procedures with patients.
• Assist in ordering tests/retrieving results.
• Suture/Staple removal and dressing changes.
• Prepare injections and obtain cultures as ordered.
• Dispense Durable Medical Equipment (DME) to patients and manage DME inventory.
• Verify patient information and document medical history.
• Maintain HIPAA compliant patient records and complete timely documentation.
• Assist patients in scheduling appointments and understanding insurance and payments.
• Support Ortho biologics program.
• Liaise with doctors, nurses, and other providers to facilitate care.
