Job summary
OrthoNY is seeking a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) to join our team, focusing on casting and durable medical equipment (DME) while supporting patient care tasks. The LPN will assist physicians with patient care, apply casts, perform dressing changes, and manage DME applications.
The role requires an LPN license in NYS, strong communication skills, and familiarity with EMR systems. Travel between offices is expected.
Qualifications
- Graduate of an accredited school of nursing.
- Unrestricted current LPN license to practice nursing in NYS required.
- 1–3 years of recent experience preferred.
- Excellent communication and customer service skills.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and EMR preferred.
- CPR certification preferred.
Responsibilities
- Prepare the patient for the exam by performing preliminary tests, as needed.
- Reporting relevant information to the provider.
- Assist the provider with patient care as requested.
- Perform casting and durable medical equipment (DME) tasks.
- Prepare injections and obtain cultures as ordered/needed.
- Dispense DME and assist with inventory as required.
- Document accurately in the electronic medical record system.
- Maintain patient records per HIPAA and clinic policies.
