Job summary

Brookwoodhc Nursing Services in Homestead, FL, seeks a dedicated registered nurse to lead daily nursing activities and supervise nursing assistants, ensuring compliance with federal, state, and local standards and delivering high‑quality resident care.

You will document care, administer medications, plan shifts, and collaborate with physicians and CNAs to maintain compassionate, compliant care for residents.

Qualifications

• Registered nurse or licensed practical/vocational nurse with an active state license.
• Current/active CPR certification, preferred.
• Excellent technical assessment and documentation skills.
• Effective verbal and written English communication skills.
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy; able to prioritize and multi-task.

Responsibilities

• Meet the required physical and sensory requirements and be able to function in the environment as defined.
• Direct the day‑to‑day functions of the nursing assistants in accordance with rules, regulations and guidelines that govern the long‑term care industry.
• Prepare and administer medication as ordered by the physician.
• Review telephone orders from physicians and record them on the physician’s order form.
• Admit, transfer and discharge residents as required.
• Assist in planning the nursing portion of the resident’s discharge plan as necessary.
• Enter documentation concerning unauthorized discharges in the resident medical record in accordance with established procedures.
• Respond promptly to all call lights and assist with other residents’ needs.
• Make rounds with physicians as necessary.
• Duties assigned by supervisor.
