Job summary

Mercy is seeking a compassionate LPN to join the 4A Cardiac Unit. You’ll provide patient care using the nursing process, contribute to care planning, and collaborate with the team to ensure high-quality outcomes.

We offer a Graduate Nurse Sign On Bonus of $2,000 and an Experienced LPN sign-on up to $10,000, plus PTO frontload up to 40 hours for full-time experienced LPNs. ACLS is preferred and supported; 4A focuses on CHF, chest pain, and post-procedure care.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited practical nursing program or equivalent experience.
• LPN license in the hiring state and ongoing licensure maintenance.
• Stand/walk for long periods; lift up to 50 pounds with assistance.
• Experience: new grad or experienced LPN.
• Basic Life Support certification (American Heart Association) or within 30 days; IV certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Utilizes the nursing process to provide patient care and maintain confidentiality.
• Evaluates overall care effectiveness and coordinates with other departments.
• Maintains patient rights and adheres to Mercy Service Standards.
• Focus care in the 4A Cardiac Unit on CHF, chest pain, post Angio care, and related monitoring.

4A Cardiac Unit focuses on CHF, Chest pain, drug load, pre CABG, pre TAVR, Angio with stents, BKS, AKA and med/surg overflow patients.

Qualifications:

• Education: Graduate of an accredited practical nursing program; Consideration will be given for comparable education experience and successful licensure.
• Licensure: Is personally responsible for obtaining, and maintaining a current LPN license within the hiring state in which nursing duties are performed and must meet all State Board of Nursing requirements.
• Physical Requirements/Demands: Stand/Walk most of the time on duty; significant amount of bending and stooping, as well as lifting and turning patients with assistance; push/pull/grip up to 50 pounds
• Experience: Can be new or experienced LPN
• Certifications: Basic Life Support certification through the American Heart Association or successful completion of course within 30 days of hire.
• Preferred Certifications: IV Certification.
