Job summary

Westminster Communities of Florida is seeking a compassionate Full‑Time Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) for our Assisted Living Department in Winter Park, FL. The ideal candidate will provide clinical support, supervise CNAs as Charge Nurse, and ensure medication administration per physician orders.

Must hold Florida LPN license and CPR certification; previous long-term care experience is desirable. We encourage influenza vaccination or alternatives as noted, with various employee benefits

Qualifications

• Must be currently licensed in the State of Florida as a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN).
• CPR Certification required.
• One year of long term care experience desirable, Med/Surg, Home Health experience helpful.

Responsibilities

• Supervise CNAs as the Charge Nurse; ensure CNAs follow physician orders.
• Implement resident care based on physician orders and communicate updates to doctors.
• Assist with evaluation of residents for medical needs and planning resident care.
• Ensure residents receive medications per doctor’s orders; perform medication passes.
• Maintain the medication cart and audit PRN and controlled medicines.
• Perform skin evaluations and monitor BG, temp, and BP.
• Assist residents with activities of daily living.

LICENSED PRACTICAL NURSE| Winter Park

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

• Supervise CNA's as the Charge Nurse; ensure that CNA's are following physician orders.
• Implement resident care based on physician orders. Evaluate care and communicate with doctors for updates of orders (PRN).
• Assist with the evaluation of residents for medical needs/changes. Assist with planning resident care based on physician orders.
• Ensure that residents are receiving their medication based on doctor’s orders/complete medication pass.
• Maintain the medication cart including audit procedures for PRN medication and controlled medicines as defined by the nursing standards.
• Perform skin evaluations and skin treatment as required by skin treatment protocols. Monitor blood glucose, temperature, and blood pressure.
• Assist patients/residents with Activities of Daily Living such as bathing, dressing, grooming, eating, transferring, ambulating, toileting, and other resident needs.

ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS:

Education:

• Must be currently licensed in the State of Florida as a License Practical Nurse.
• Must be CPR Certified.

Experience and Basic Knowledge:

One year of long term care desirable. Med/Surg, Home Health experience helpful. Also experience working with the handicapped, developmentally disabled, or older adults preferred.
