Job summary

Cardiovascular Institute of the South is seeking a licensed practical nurse to provide nursing services primarily for the Coumadin Clinic and floor nursing as needed.

You will support cardiovascular physicians, monitor Warfarin management per protocols, maintain accurate documentation, and ensure patient safety across multiple clinical areas. This role requires strong assessment skills and compassionate patient education.

Qualifications

• Current Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) license.
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
• Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification is optional.
• Strong clinical assessment and patient-monitoring skills.
• Ability to document vital signs, EKGs, venipunctures, and other nursing procedures.

Responsibilities

• Provide licensed professional nursing services primarily for the Coumadin Clinic and floor nursing as needed.
• Support cardiovascular physicians, surgeons, nurse practitioners, and other medical personnel in delivering patient care.
• Provide Coumadin/Warfarin monitoring and management according to established clinical protocols.
• Maintain accurate clinical documentation.
• Maintain medical equipment, supplies, treatment areas, and required records to support safe and effective patient care.
• Deliver safe, compassionate, and professional nursing care to cardiovascular patients.
