Job summary

Digestive Health Specialist of Tupelo is seeking an LPN to join our gastroenterology team. You will gather vital signs, document assessments, and assist with medications under physician direction.

The ideal candidate holds an approved LPN program credential, active licensure, and BLS certification, with prior MD office experience preferred. Excellent organizational skills and patient-centered care are essential.

Qualifications

• Graduation from an approved LPN program.
• Active licensure as an LPN required.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.
• Prior MD/doctor's office experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Greet patients and gather focused assessment data including vital signs.
• Administer intramuscular and subcutaneous medications as directed by physician.
• Document vital signs and assessments accurately in patient records.
• Identify abnormal findings and report to supervisor/physician.
• Maintain infection control standards and supply par levels; check expirations monthly.
• Schedule patient appointments and outpatient procedures; coordinate tests as needed.

Refer a friend who’d be a great fit for One GI and earn a special bonus when they join the team!Snapshot of Daily DutiesGather focused assessment data (i.e. vital signs, LOC), Accurately document all vital signs observations.Administer intramuscular and subcutaneous medications as directed by physician.Demonstrate skill of equipment use, specimen collection, and reading the vital sign monitor.Identify and properly report abnormal findings to the supervisor and physician.Practice infection control and standard precautions as trained or instructed.Maintain par levels of supplies in work area. Check for expiration dates monthly.Assist in maintaining general medical records.Schedule patient appointments and other procedures in the computer as needed.Schedule outpatient x-rays and tests as needed.The Must HavesGraduation from an approved LPN program. Must have active licensure and maintain licensure required, OR Medical Assistant certification.Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.Previous M.D. office experience or clinical work required.Priority setting, application of judgment, communication skill and tact, ability to complete necessary tasks in reasonable time frames. Organizational skills. Demonstrate initiative, insight, and judgment in making decisions.
