Job summary

Wayne Memorial Community Health Centers seeks a Licensed Practical Nurse to join the team at Forest City Family Health Center in Forest City, PA. The role emphasizes accurate charting, patient care and collaboration with physicians to support exams and procedures.

The LPN will perform clinical tasks, monitor patients, manage basic care and ensure proper documentation, while upholding patient confidentiality and safety standards in a busy primary care setting.

Qualifications

• LPN degree or diploma from an accredited program.
• Active PA LPN licensure.
• Commitment to ongoing professional development and continuing education.

Responsibilities

• Appropriate and accurate charting of patients and procedures
• Demonstrate effective knowledge of medical terminology
• Assists doctors with office exams and procedures
• Vitals: BP, temperature, respiration, pulse, height and weight
• Exam room preparation
• Medical and surgical aseptic techniques
• Patients’ rights and ethics (patient confidentiality)
• Venipuncture
• Collecting specimens (Pap smears, throat, wound, urine cultures)
• Routine urine tests
• Administration of medications
• Universal precautions
• Draping and positioning patients
• Recording EKGs
• Pulmonary function tests
• Use of nebulizer
• Injections
• PDR and reference books
• Care of instruments and sterilization
• Visual acuity testing
• Other duties as assigned

Education

Graduate from an accredited school for Licensed Practical Nurses (LPN)

Current licensure in the State of Pennsylvania

Participates in educational conferences and updates/maintains professional knowledge and skills
