Job summary

New York Cancer & Blood Specialists is seeking a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) for our Manhattan, Kips Bay location. The role involves updating EMR records, managing provider inboxes, maintaining inventory, and escorting patients to exam rooms.

You will educate patients on medications and care plans, assist with exams, and perform injections, phlebotomy, EKGs, and basic lab work. Qualified candidates hold a NYS LPN license and BLS certification, with strong communication and attention to

Qualifications

• Current NYS LPN license required.
• BLS certification required.
• Experience with EMR systems preferred.

Responsibilities

• Update and maintain the electronic medical record with up-to-date vital signs, demographics, medication reconciliation, allergies and diagnoses.
• Manage physician inbox messages and prioritize tasks in the EMR.
• Assist in maintaining medical inventory and stock rooms.
• Escort patients to exam rooms and provide patient education on medications and disease management.
• Assist physicians during exams and procedures; prepare and administer injections.
• Perform phlebotomy and collect lab specimens; perform point-of-care testing and EKGs.
• Administer medications under physician orders and adhere to the five rights to minimize errors.
