Job summary

Management & Training Corporation (MTC) is seeking a licensed practical nurse to join the Charleston Job Corps Center in Charleston, WV. You will provide basic health care, support preventive health programs, and document patient information.

Qualifications

• Valid, unrestricted LPN license in the state of employment.
• 1 year practical nursing experience required.
• A valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record.

Responsibilities

• Render first aid and assist in treating serious accidents or illness.
• Treat minor injuries and illnesses and maintain health records.
• Prepare and administer specified medications and assist in health programs.
• Assist in management of pregnancy, weight control and smoking cessation programs.
• Monitor students with illness, triage, take vital signs and chart appropriately.
• Prepare and submit required reports for Health & Wellness Director.

What you will be doing

You'll be responsible for treating and preventing minor injuries and illnesses. They will provide information and guidance for the promotion of good health and well-being of our students.

Essential Functions

• Render first aid treatment and assist physician in treating serious accidents or illness.
• Treat minor injuries and illness according to doctor's instructions and maintain student health records.
• Prepare and administer specified medications and assist in developing programs to prevent or control diseases and accidents.
• Assist in the management and coordination of the pregnancy, weight control and smoking cessation programs.
• Monitor students with illness and unable to attend class. Triage, assess complaints, take vital signs, do appropriate charting and assist with chart review.
• Prepare and submit required reports within required timeframes as needed and directed by the Health & Wellness Director.

Education And Experience Requirements

• Valid, unrestricted LPN license in the state of employment.
• 1-year practical nursing experience required.
• A valid driver license with an acceptable driving record.
