Job summary

Étoile Academy Charter School is seeking a dedicated teacher to deliver data-driven instruction and uphold our REACH values. You will collaborate with special education and ESL staff to meet diverse student needs and implement a scripted curriculum.

The role requires analyzing assessments (NWEA MAP, MCLASS, i-Ready), maintaining accurate grade books, and engaging families with regular progress updates. A Bachelor's degree and teaching certification are preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited four-year educational institution is required
• Experience in a classroom setting preferred
• State certification preferred but not required
• Bilingual preferred (English/Spanish)
• Completion of Reading Academies preferred
• Previous experience teaching a STAAR tested grade preferred

Responsibilities

• Teach core content using scripted curriculum (Amplify and Eureka) to Etoile students.
• Internalize lessons and prepare for execution by considering misconceptions and success criteria.
• Manage a classroom using our school-wide discipline system.
• Implement formal and informal assessments to track progress, adjust lessons, and update grade book weekly.
• Analyze data from assessments (NWEA MAP, MCLASS, i-Ready) to implement personalized learning plans.
• Support growth of all students, including English Language Learners.
• Communicate progress with students and families daily and weekly.
• Facilitate technology use as a communication and educational tool.
• Implement behavior management and build classroom community.
• Participate in daily school operations such as arrival, lunch, and dismissal supervision.
• Attend staff meetings, open houses, and parent-teacher conferences.
• Build trusting relationships with students and families.
• Host tutoring sessions to meet students’ needs.
• Participate in weekly meetings, teacher development, and school-wide events.
• Engage in summer and year-round professional development.
• Minimum of 40 hours per week on-site.
• May include after-school tutoring or Saturday school as needed.
