Job summary

Wyoming Seminary Lower School is seeking a daily substitute for Primary and Middle School classes. The substitute will provide instruction in the absence of the classroom teacher and help maintain a positive learning environment.

Responsibilities include following lesson plans, maintaining routines, and staying with the class for the full school day. Requirements include Pennsylvania teaching or guest teacher certification and background checks. The school promotes diversity and inclusion.

Qualifications

• Candidates must hold a valid Pennsylvania Teaching Certification or Guest Teacher Certification
• State certification preferred
• A valid Pennsylvania Criminal Record check (ACT 34)
• A valid Pennsylvania Child Abuse Clearance History (ACT 151)

Responsibilities

• In the absence of the classroom teacher, the substitute is responsible for providing instruction and managing the learning environment.
• Provide instruction to the students of the assigned classroom in conjunction with the lesson plans provided by the absent teacher
• Create a classroom that is conducive to learning and appropriate to the maturity and interests of the students
• Follow the established routines and procedures of the classroom to which assigned
• Adhere to all policies, rules and procedures to which teachers are subject
• Ensure that a safe and orderly learning environment is maintained
• Work cooperatively with all school personnel
• Remain at school the entire school day, unless otherwise instructed to leave by building principal
• Perform other duties as assigned

QUALIFICATIONS
