Job summary

Perkins School for the Blind seeks a Program Nurse for the Lower School to provide comprehensive nursing care, conduct health assessments, and participate in nursing diagnosis, planning, and monitoring with the Nurse Practitioner and physician. You will build collaborative healthcare plans with educational, residential, and clinical staff to support each student’s needs.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required and MA RN license.
• Two years’ experience working with children with developmental disabilities preferred.
• Licensed Registered Nurse in Massachusetts is required.

Responsibilities

• Performs health assessments and participates in nursing diagnosis, planning, and monitoring.
• Develops and maintains cooperative relationships with staff to meet healthcare needs of students.
• Administers medications under supervision and trains designated residential staff.
• Communicates with families and health professionals to coordinate student care.
• Participates in admissions, clinical, and multidisciplinary team meetings.
