Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education or Literacy required.
  • Master’s degree preferred.
  • Minimum of 5 years teaching experience in elementary grades.
  • Experience with UFLI Fundations program.
  • Training in structured multisensory instructional methods (e.g., Orton-Gillingham).
  • Proficiency with Google tools and related applications used by the school.

Responsibilities

  • Provide small group literacy intervention to Lower Division students, using data to set goals and monitor progress.
  • Analyze assessment data with Lower Division teachers to improve classroom instruction.
  • Meet with grade-level teams to develop and implement literacy curriculum and share best practices.
  • Communicate regularly with parents, orally and in writing.
  • Attend parent-teacher conferences for students and grade-level conferences as needed.
  • Manage and administer assessment procedures in collaboration with the Literacy Team and Lower Division Head.
  • Pursue ongoing professional development aligned with literacy goals and school priorities.
  • Differentiate reading instruction for students in collaboration with the Director of Academic Support.
