Job summary

Adams-Construction-Company is seeking a Lowboy Driver to operate lowboy tractor trailers hauling construction equipment, from skid to large loaders, in Roanoke, VA. You will ensure loads meet weight requirements and comply with DOT regulations while maintaining timely deliveries.

The role requires a Class A CDL, a clean driving record, DOT physical, and at least 3 years moving heavy equipment. Strong safety practices and daily equipment checks are essential.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED required.
• Class A commercial driver’s license with proper endorsements.
• Must possess a valid driver's license and have an acceptable driving record.
• Must have a valid DOT physical.
• Must pass pre-employment drug screen.
• Minimum of 3 years' experience moving heavy construction equipment with lowboy trailer.
• Strong safety record required.

Responsibilities

• drives truck to transport material/equipment to specified destinations
• verifies materials hauled and weights
• secures loads with blocks and tie ropers
• loads and unloads trucks
• maintains and checks truck equipment for roadworthiness
• inspects vehicle for mechanical and safety systems
• communicates with other operators to ensure schedules
• keeps truck clean and in good working order
• notifies supervisor of needed repairs
• performs minor repairs and servicing daily
