Job Title

Lowboy Driver - Hampton Roads

Major Role and Purpose

• Drives truck for transporting construction material and heavy construction equipment. May have various kinds of beds attached, such as dump, flat bed, semi-trailer or trailer.

Description of Duties

• Ensure a safe work environment in compliance with all safety policies and procedures using the appropriate tools and equipment for the task.
• Load heavy construction equipment and material to and from jobs.
• Know and adhere to DOT standards and requirements.
• Perform pre- and post-trip inspections.
• Maintain a daily log.
• Understand verbal and written directions and utilize GPS.
• Communicate with management and foreman on job sites.
• Perform any other duties assigned by a supervisor.

Education

High School Diploma preferred.

Work Experience

Minimum 2 years of experience.

Skills Required

• Possess a valid CDL, Class A license.
• Hold N and/or H endorsements (a plus).
• Maintain a positive driving record.
• Pass a background check and access military bases.
• Perform basic math as required.

Physical Demands

• Job requires motions such as climbing, bending, squatting, pushing, pulling, vibrating, and reaching.
• Requires lifting up to 50 lbs.
• Overtime work is required.
• Potential exposure to extremes of hot or cold weather.
