Job summary

Actalent is seeking a hands-on Low Voltage Technician to install, test, and service low voltage systems across commercial, industrial, healthcare, and education facilities in the Greater Milwaukee area.

Ideal candidates have 1+ years of experience with structured cabling, can read drawings, and operate hand/power tools and testing equipment. This is a contract-to-hire onsite role based out of Brookfield, WI.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• 1+ years of low voltage installation experience preferred.
• Knowledge of structured cabling standards and installation practices.
• Ability to read construction drawings and wiring diagrams.
• Proficiency using hand tools, power tools, and cable testing equipment.
• Strong troubleshooting and problem‑solving skills.
• Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.

Responsibilities

• Install, terminate, label, and test low voltage cabling including Cat5e, Cat6, Cat6A, fiber optic, and coaxial cable.
• Install and service structured cabling systems in commercial and industrial facilities.
• Mount and connect equipment including racks, patch panels, cable trays, and network hardware.
• Read and interpret blueprints, wiring diagrams, and construction documents.
• Perform moves, adds, and changes (MAC work) for existing systems.
• Assist with installation and commissioning of Access Control, CCTV, Intrusion, A/V, DAS, and data networks.
