Job summary

Qualifications

  • Previous low-voltage, structured cabling, security, or related field experience.
  • Experience installing and terminating Cat5e/Cat6 cabling.
  • Familiarity with IP cameras and video surveillance systems.
  • Experience with or exposure to access control systems.
  • Understanding of door hardware and electrified locking devices.
  • Ability to safely operate hand and power tools.
  • Ability to troubleshoot basic low-voltage and connectivity issues.
  • Strong attention to detail and quality workmanship.
  • Dependable, professional, and comfortable working in commercial client environments.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a field team.

Responsibilities

  • Installing and servicing IP camera systems, including Axis, Hanwha, and Brivo
  • Installing access control hardware, including HID and Brivo systems
  • Running, dressing, terminating, testing, and labeling Cat5e/Cat6 and fiber cabling
  • Installing and troubleshooting low-voltage devices and supporting network infrastructure
  • Working with door hardware and electrified locking devices
  • Troubleshooting system and connectivity issues
  • Performing preventive maintenance and service work
  • Reading basic drawings, floor plans, and installation documentation
  • Maintaining clean, organized, and professional job sites
  • Completing projects ranging from individual device replacements to full-building installations and upgrades

Low Voltage Technician | NYC Metro Area | $25–$35/Hour

AB.INC is hiring experienced Low Voltage Cable Installers to join our growing field team serving commercial and enterprise clients throughout the NYC metro area.

LOCAL CANDIDATES ONLY — MUST CURRENTLY RESIDE IN NEW YORK.

AB.INC is a commercial security integrator specializing in Video Surveillance Systems (VSS), Physical Access Control Systems (PACS), structured cabling, and network infrastructure for Class A commercial properties throughout New York.

Our team supports projects for enterprise clients and properties associated with organizations such as JLL, CBRE, Google, Tishman Speyer, Industry City, and Chelsea Market.

We combine the responsiveness of a smaller company with the technical capabilities and standards required for large-scale commercial environments.

What You'll Do

What We're Looking For

Compensation

$25–$35 per hour, based on experience, technical skills, and qualifications.
