Job summary

IT Expert Solutions is hiring a Site Technician/Installer to run wiring and install access control, intercom, and CCTV/video surveillance systems across North Jersey. We will train the right candidate on our systems and brands; reliability, willingness to learn, and comfort with wiring and tools are essential.

Responsibilities include running wiring on pre-construction sites, installing panels and cameras, and coordinating with contractors and clients on active sites.

Qualifications

• Experience with low-voltage wiring or security systems or related trade.
• Comfort on active construction sites and finished occupied buildings.
• Able to handle hand and power tools and ladders.
• Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation (company vehicle provided).

Responsibilities

• Run and rough-in low-voltage wiring (Cat5e/6, coax) on pre-construction sites.
• Run, terminate, and test low-voltage cabling in unfinished or finished spaces.
• Install access control panels, door readers, intercom systems, IP cameras/NVRs.
• Mount and configure hardware for access control and video systems.
• Read basic wiring diagrams to plan cable runs and device placement.
• Troubleshoot and repair existing installed systems.
• Coordinate on-site with property managers, general contractors, and clients.
• Maintain a clean, professional, and safe worksite on active construction sites.
• Document completed work with photos and checklists.

Job description

IT Expert Solutions (ITES) is hiring a Site Technician/Installer to run wiring and install access control, intercom, and CCTV/video surveillance systems, from pre-construction rough-in through final commissioning, across North Jersey. We will train the right candidate on our systems and brands; what matters most is reliability, willingness to learn, and comfort running wire and working with tools on both active construction sites and finished spaces.

Responsibilities

• Run and rough-in low-voltage wiring (Cat5e/6, coax) on pre-construction sites, coordinating with general contractors and other trades
• Run, terminate, and test low-voltage cabling in both unfinished construction spaces and existing finished buildings
• Install access control panels, door readers, intercom systems, and IP cameras/NVRs per project specs
• Mount and configure hardware, including basic programming of access control and video systems
• Read basic wiring diagrams and rough-in plans to plan cable runs and device placement
• Troubleshoot and repair existing installed systems
• Coordinate on-site with property managers, general contractors, and clients
• Maintain a clean, professional, and safe worksite, including active construction environments
• Document completed work with photos and checklists

Qualifications

• Experience with low-voltage wiring, security systems, structured cabling, or a related trade (HVAC/electrical/AV backgrounds welcome); strong entry-level candidates will be considered
• Comfortable working on active construction sites as well as finished occupied buildings
• Comfortable with hand and power tools, ladders, and tight or elevated spaces
• Valid driver's license and reliable transportation (company vehicle provided for job sites)
• Ability to read basic wiring diagrams a plus, not required
• Familiarity with brands like HikVision, Butterfly-MX, Axis, or DMP a plus, not required
• Ability to lift 50 lbs and work on your feet for extended periods

Compensation & Schedule

Pay range: $18-$30/hour depending on experience, higher for licensed/experienced low-voltage techs

Full-time, Monday-Friday with occasional flexibility for client schedules
