Low Voltage Technician

We are seeking a motivated Low Voltage Technician to join our growing team. This entry-level position is ideal for individuals looking to begin or grow a career in the low voltage and structured cabling industry. Under the supervision of senior staff, the technician will assist in the installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of various low voltage systems, including security systems, fire alarms, telecommunications, and data networks.

Must be located within 1 hour of NYC and willing to travel within the state.

Responsibilities
  • Install, terminate, and test copper cabling and low voltage wiring per project specifications.
  • Assist in setting up and mounting equipment such as cameras, panels, access control units, and fire alarm systems.
  • Support troubleshooting and repair activities under the direction of senior technicians.
  • Pull, label, and route cables through walls, ceilings, and conduit pathways.
  • Read and interpret basic blueprints, wiring diagrams, and technical documentation.
  • Maintain clean, organized work areas and follow all safety protocols on site.
  • Communicate effectively with team members, supervisors, and clients as needed.
  • Document work progress and assist in generating completion reports.
Qualifications
  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • Basic understanding of electrical systems and low voltage principles.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints and wiring diagrams.
  • Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
  • Willingness to learn and follow direction from supervisors.
  • Ability to work on ladders, lifts, and in confined spaces as needed.
  • Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs and work in physically demanding environments.
  • Reliable transportation and willingness to travel to various job sites.
  • Military Veterans are encouraged to apply.
Certifications (Company-Covered)
  • OSHA 30 – Required for access to NYC construction sites; provides foundational workplace safety knowledge.
  • BICSI Installer 1 – Entry-level certification focused on copper cabling installation; eligible after 9–12 months of experience.
  • CPR / First Aid – Ensures readiness for emergency response in potentially hazardous work environments.
