Job description

Job Description

If you’re a skilled Low Voltage Technician who’s tired of being treated like a number on a massive job site, we get it. At All Pro Audio Video, we value precision, pride in your work, and technicians who treat cable management like an art form.

We’re expanding and looking for a technician who takes ownership of their work. Whether you’re a seasoned tech ready to step up into leadership or an experienced Crew Leader looking for a better team culture, this role is built around a clear growth path. We give you the vehicle, the gear, and the backing to run smooth jobs—without micro-management.

What Makes This Role Different?

  • Real Career Progression: You aren't stuck pulling wire forever. Drive toward a Crew Leader / Field Supervisor role with clear performance goals.
  • Company Ride & Gear: Provided company truck, gas card, and appropriate specialty tools for the job.
  • We Invest in Your Mindset: We pay for job-required training and product certifications (BICSI, Control4, IPVM, networking, etc.). When you learn more, you earn more.
  • Predictable Schedule: Standard hours are Monday–Friday, 9:00 AM – 5:00 PM (with proper breaks). If weekend work is ever required (only a couple of times a year), you’ll know well in advance—no surprise Friday afternoon schedule shifts.

What You’ll Be Doing

  • System Installation: Pull, terminate, dress, and test Cat5e/Cat6, coax, and fiber. Assemble equipment racks and mount TVs, cameras, access control, and network hardware cleanly.
  • Configuration & Troubleshooting: Program IP-based cameras, access control modules, and networking equipment. Use cable testers, multimeters, and analyzers to diagnose issues fast.
  • Site Ownership: Work off blueprints, maintain a clean workspace and organized van, and keep clients informed and confident.
  • Leadership & Mentorship: Lead smaller projects or help guide junior techs as you step into a Crew Leader position.

What We’re Looking For

Technician Track:

  • 2+ years of hands-on experience in low voltage cabling, IP surveillance, access control, or networking infrastructure.
  • Self-motivated with a strong work ethic and solid problem-solving skills.
  • Comfortable working on ladders and lifts (typical elevated work ranges from 8 to 30 feet).
  • Comfortable with basic hand tools, mounting hardware, and general physical upkeep tasks.
  • Valid Driver’s License and a clean driving record (required for company vehicle insurance).

Crew Leader Track (Fast-Track Candidate):

  • 5+ years of field experience, with a track record of running job sites, managing small crews, and dealing directly with clients/GCs.
  • Proven ability to troubleshoot complex IP network/AV issues on the fly.

Bonus Points (Not Required):

  • Existing certifications (e.g., CompTIA, IPVM, BICSI, manufacturer specific).
  • Experience with custom residential AV control systems or advanced commercial access control.

Compensation & Benefits

  • Competitive Hourly Pay based on knowledge and experience (Overtime available on select projects).
  • Company Vehicle & Gas Card provided.
  • Medical Benefits: 40% company-paid medical insurance, with vision and dental options available after 90 days.
  • 6 Paid Holidays + Paid Time Off (PTO) after 90 days.
  • SIMPLE IRA Retirement Plan with a 1% company match.
  • Paid Certifications & Training: Company-funded training courses as projects require.
