The ideal candidate is a hands‑on leader who takes pride in mentoring others, solving problems in the field, and collaborating with project managers and clients to bring systems to life. A working knowledge of audiovisual (AV) systems is a plus.

Key Responsibilities
  • Field Leadership & Installation
    • Serve as the on‑site lead technician for structured cabling, access control, and security projects.
    • Install, terminate, and test copper (Cat5e/6/6A) and fiber optic cabling to meet TIA/EIA and industry standards.
    • Install and commission access control systems, including card readers, door strikes, magnetic locks, and control panels.
    • Install, configure, and aim IP‑based surveillance cameras and network video recorders.
    • Ensure all work meets code, safety, and quality requirements.
  • Team Coordination & Mentorship
    • Supervise and guide installation crews, apprentices, and subcontractors to ensure efficient workflow and adherence to standards.
    • Provide on‑the‑job training and mentorship to junior technicians.
    • Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and clients to maintain clear communication and project alignment.
  • Technical Execution & Documentation
    • Interpret and work from blueprints, construction drawings, and scope‑of‑work documents.
    • Troubleshoot and resolve field issues quickly and professionally.
    • Maintain accurate as‑built documentation, labeling, and test results.
    • Communicate material needs, changes, or field conditions proactively.
  • Additional Support
    • Occasionally assist with basic AV installations such as mounting displays or running signal cables (HDMI, audio, control).
    • Participate in project closeouts, client walkthroughs, and punch‑list resolution.
Qualifications
  • 3–5+ years of field experience in structured cabling, access control, and security systems.
  • Proven leadership experience directing installation teams on commercial projects.
  • Proficiency in copper and fiber optic terminations, testing, and certification.

  • Excellent troubleshooting skills and strong attention to detail.
  • Professional communication skills with clients, peers, and management.
  • Valid driver’s license and clean driving record.
Preferred Experience & Certifications
  • OSHA 10/30 certification or manufacturer‑specific credentials (preferred).
  • AV installation experience (conference room displays, basic signal routing) a plus.
  • BICSI Installer or Technician certification preferred.
  • Experience with structured cabling test equipment (Fluke, OWL, etc.).
What We Offer
  • Competitive compensation and benefits package.
  • Opportunities for advancement and continued professional training.
  • Collaborative, team‑oriented culture that values craftsmanship and initiative.
