Job summary

Amteck is seeking a Low Voltage Technician to join our Greenville, SC team. You will install, maintain and repair low voltage cabling and devices in commercial and industrial settings, under supervision.

The role focuses on safety, quality workmanship, and learning to read schematics and drawings. You will pull cables and fiber, terminate cables, and work with a team across trades to deliver projects on time.

Qualifications

  • Experience in the construction industry is preferred, but not required.
  • Ability to read a measuring tape is required.
  • Provide personal hand tools within 30 days per Amteck’s tool list.
  • Demonstrates basic understanding of customer relationships and customer satisfaction.

Responsibilities

  • Install, maintain and repair low voltage devices and cabling in commercial/industrial buildings.
  • Pull cable and fiber; learn color codes and terminations.
  • Read schematics, drawings, wire maps and other drawings.
  • Work with other trades in a safe, productive manner.
  • Be adaptable to cramped spaces, heights and varying weather conditions.

They work under the direction of others to perform field work and are required to install a quality product in compliance with contractual documents and all applicable codes. Their work is subject to inspection while in progress and upon completion by the person they report to.Responsibilities:Install, maintain and repair devices and cabling of low voltage systems in commercial and industrial buildings including pulling cable, pulling fiber, learning color codes, learning how to punch down and terminate cables and fiber, and installing cable trays and pathwaysDemonstrate ability to learn how to use hand and power tools in a safe and cautious mannerBegin learning how to read schematics, drawing details, wire maps, and other drawingsWork with and around other construction trades in a professional, productive and safe mannerMake skillful, controlled manipulations of small objects such as small electronic partsPerform skilled work while overcoming common environmental challenges such as working in cramped areas, overhead, at heights, and in a variety of weather conditionsWork with others in a cooperative manner; understand and follow directionThink and act quickly in emergency situations and perform under pressureComplete tasks accurately and productively, always seeking guidance for any unclear aspects of the task and immediately seeking a new task when the current task is finished.
