Job summary

Qualifications

  • Providing personal hand tools within 30 days as per Amteck tool list.
  • Demonstrates understanding of customer relationships and satisfaction.
  • Meets all physical requirements and able to travel as needed.

Responsibilities

Job description

We are seeking a Low Voltage Technician based out of our Myrtle Beach, SC office. The Technician’s fundamental role is to work as part of a team to install, maintain, and repair cabling and devices for low-voltage systems. They work under the direction of others to perform field work and are required to install a quality product in compliance with contractual documents and all applicable codes. Their work is subject to inspection while in progress and upon completion by the person they report to.

Responsibilities
  • Install, maintain and repair devices and cabling of low voltage systems in commercial and industrial buildings including pulling cable, pulling fiber, learning color codes, learning how to punch down and terminate cables and fiber, and installing cable trays and pathways
  • Demonstrate ability to learn how to use hand and power tools in a safe and cautious manner
  • Begin learning how to read schematics, drawing details, wire maps, and other drawings
  • Work with and around other construction trades in a professional, productive and safe manner
  • Make skillful, controlled manipulations of small objects such as small electronic parts
  • Perform skilled work while overcoming common environmental challenges such as working in cramped areas, overhead, at heights, and in a variety of weather conditions
  • Work with others in a cooperative manner; understand and follow direction
  • Think and act quickly in emergency situations and perform under pressure
  • Complete tasks accurately and productively, always seeking guidance for any unclear aspects of the task and immediately seeking a new task when the current task is finished. Employee does not stay idle during working hours.
  • Work to learn job-related material through peers, supervisors, and company training
  • Accountable for tools and materials used on the jobsite and responsible for securing and returning them to the designated area
  • Obtain required Amteck safety certifications, communicate with team members regarding any safety deficiencies, and work safely without presenting a direct threat to self and others
Requirements
  • Experience working in the construction industry is preferred, but not required
  • Experience working with low voltage systems preferred, but not required
  • Must be able to read a measuring tape
  • Providing personal hand tools needed to perform routine work within 30 days of employment, as per Amteck’s tool list
  • Demonstrates a basic understanding of customer relationships and the concept of customer satisfaction, with an aptitude for growing that skill
  • Meet all physical requirements of the position
  • Able to travel to meet customer objectives when needed
  • Possesses Amteck’s Core Values and demonstrates The Amteck Way in daily work activities, behavior and decision making, including maintaining a strong attendance and arriving on time every day ready to begin work at starting time
