We have an opening for a Low Voltage Technician position working at a company in Hartselle, AL that provides voice and data cabling services and related infrastructure for commercial clients. This is an evaluation-to-hire opportunity with potential for full-time placement.

Skills/Qualifications

• Work is conducted in commercial buildings and oftentimes around business professionals during normal business hours, and as such, you will be expected to present and maintain a professional work appearance.
• A working knowledge of wiring for cable/phone/Internet is preferred.
• Familiarity using multimeters, reading basic schematics, and working with switches and relays in a low-voltage environment is a plus.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to work independently.
• Must be in good physical condition with no limitations.
• Basic knowledge of hand tools (electric and battery-powered).
• Must have a working command of the English language.
• Punctuality and dependability.

Duties/Responsibilities

• Installing fiber optics & low-voltage wiring (Cat5/6, Twisted Pair, etc.) for phone and/or Internet applications at commercial job sites.
• Terminating wires inside control panels and their associated endpoints, then testing those connections to verify they are functioning properly.
• Use multimeters to verify proper voltage levels and integrity of electrical continuity.
• Assist in the troubleshooting of malfunctioning circuits using appropriate testing/diagnostic equipment.
• Work with relays, switches, and other control components as required.
• Follow safety standards and installation best practices.
