Job summary

Facility Solutions Group, Inc. in Dallas is seeking a Low Voltage Technician to pull, test, and terminate copper and fiber optic cabling in commercial construction projects. You will install support structures, operate tools, and ensure cables are labeled and tested to established procedures.

The role requires basic cabling experience, a valid driver’s license, and the ability to pass a drug/background check. Benefits include medical/dental, 401K, and a robust PTO plan; OSHA is preferred.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Six months of experience installing low-voltage cabling in a commercial setting.
• Ability to receive state apprentice license.
• Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
• Pass drug and background screen.
• Manufacturer training (CommScope, Panduit, etc.) is a plus.
• OSHA preferred.

Responsibilities

• Pull, test, and terminate CAT5e/6a cabling in a commercial environment.
• Install support structures such as J-hooks, saddles, slings, and cable tray.
• Operate hand tools, power tools, ladders, and testing equipment.
• Label cables neatly and organized.
• Test every newly installed or relocated cable per procedures.
• Keep cable bundles neat while maintaining safety standards.
• Develop knowledge of National Building Codes and standards.
• Record time and materials used.
• Assist team with installation and maintenance.
• Provide answers to clients by identifying problems and guiding corrective steps.
• Research required information using available resources.
• Be willing to work days, nights or weekends if needed.
• Work in varying environments including outdoors, heights, and confined spaces.

As a Low Voltage Technician , you will be responsible for pulling, testing, and terminating copper and/or fiber optic cabling in a construction environment. • Installing support structure such as J-hooks, saddles, slings, and cable tray
• Operate hand tools, power tools, ladders, and testing equipment
• Label cables in a neat and organized manner
• Test every newly installed or relocated cable in accordance with established procedures
• Keep cable neatly tied and bundled while maintaining safety standards
• Develop in-depth knowledge of National Building Codes and standards
• Record time and materials used
• Assist other members of the team with installation and maintenance
• Provides answers to clients by identifying problems; researching answers; guiding clients through corrective steps
• Research required information using available resources
• Be willing to work any shift (days, nights or weekends if needed)
• Be able to work in various environments including outdoors in varying degrees of weather working at heights, and in small, confined spaces

Qualifications

• At least six (6) months of experience installing low-voltage cabling and/or devices while in a commercial construction environment
• High School Diploma or equivalent
• Ability to receive state apprentice license
• Valid Driver's License and reliable transportation
• Must be able to pass drug and background screen
• Manufacturer training is a plus (CommScope, Panduit, etc.)
• OSHA preferred
