Job summary

ESP Enterprises Inc. is seeking a skilled Low Voltage Cabling Technician for commercial environments in Houston, TX.

The role covers installation, termination, testing, and troubleshooting of structured cabling systems across offices, healthcare facilities, data centers, and industrial sites. Ideal candidates will have experience with copper and fiber optic cabling, reading construction drawings, and a commitment to safety and quality.

Qualifications

  • 2+ years of commercial low-voltage, structured cabling, or network infrastructure experience.
  • Experience terminating and testing CAT5e, CAT6, CAT6A, and fiber optic cabling.
  • Knowledge of TIA/EIA structured cabling standards.
  • Ability to read blueprints, schematics, and construction plans.
  • Proficiency with hand tools and low-voltage testing equipment.
  • Ability to work from ladders, lifts, and elevated work platforms.
  • Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
  • Ability to pass a background check and drug screening.

Responsibilities

  • Install, route, secure, and support structured cabling systems including CAT5e, CAT6, CAT6A, and fiber optic cabling.
  • Terminate and test copper and fiber optic cables to industry standards.
  • Install and dress cable pathways including cable tray, ladder rack, J-hooks, and conduit.
  • Mount and install network racks, cabinets, patch panels, wireless access points, cameras, and associated low-voltage devices.
  • Read and interpret blueprints, floor plans, specifications, and construction drawings.
  • Perform cable certification, continuity testing, fiber testing, and troubleshooting utilizing appropriate test equipment.
  • Label and document cabling infrastructure according to project requirements.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
  • Coordinate with project managers, foremen, and customers to ensure projects are completed on schedule.
  • Follow all company and OSHA safety requirements.
  • Assist with project closeout documentation and quality control verification.

Position Summary

We are seeking a skilled and dependable Low Voltage Cabling Technician to join our team. This position is responsible for the installation, termination, testing, and troubleshooting of structured cabling systems in commercial environments including office buildings, healthcare facilities, data centers, educational institutions, and industrial facilities.   • OSHA 10 or OSHA 30 certification.
  • Experience with security, access control, audio/visual, DAS, or network infrastructure systems.
Physical Requirements
  • Lift and carry up to 50 pounds regularly.
  • Bend, climb, kneel, crouch, and work in confined spaces.
  • Work indoors and outdoors under varying job site conditions.
  • Stand and walk for extended periods throughout the workday.
