Job summary

Pieper Electric is seeking a field installer helper to support safe, high-quality low-voltage installations in commercial settings. You will lay out and install pathways, raceways and cabling, and set up devices such as fire alarms, cameras and readers. Accurate testing and paperwork are part of the role.

The position requires a valid driver's license, willingness to travel to multiple job sites, and adherence to safety standards. Union participation (IBEW Local 388) is required.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Valid driver's license; must be 18+.
  • Pre-employment background and drug testing.
  • Construction or mechanical work experience preferred.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Microsoft Word and Excel experience preferred.
  • Interest in electronic or electrical systems.
  • Union participation required (IBEW Local 388).

Responsibilities

  • Ensure a safe job site aligned with safety standards.
  • Work in a team to understand best practices for quality installations.
  • Install pathway, raceway and cabling in new or existing buildings.
  • Install low voltage devices (fire alarm, cameras, readers, etc.).
  • Terminate and test low voltage cabling.
  • Communicate progress, delivery and implementation.
  • Analyze blueprints for job site knowledge.
  • Assess upcoming tasks and anticipate equipment and training.
  • Complete required paperwork.
  • Travel to various job sites; overnight stays may be required; per diem provided.
