Job summary

Wachter is accepting applications for Low Voltage Service Technicians for service work at various locations across the United States. The ideal candidate will install, troubleshoot, and maintain low voltage cabling infrastructure in commercial settings, often working 0–14 hour shifts and traveling regionally.

We value self-motivated technicians with CAT5e, fiber, and network experience, plus industry certifications.

Qualifications

• Data Cable Technician with CAT5e, fiber optic, and network experience.
• Industry-specific certifications (BICSI, Systimax, Panduit, Beldon, Corning) are a huge plus.
• Shift variety: 0–4 to 10–14 hours; early mornings, nights and weekends.
• Willing to work on-call and travel within a 2–4 hour radius daily.
• Experience in low voltage cabling, smart hands network replacement, telephony, CCTV, POS is a plus.
• Excellent customer communication, verbal and written skills.
• Knowledgeable in color codes and identifying independent colors.
• Ability to work in cramped spaces; operate BOOM or scissor lift; work at heights.
• Has basic telecommunication tools, PPE, and reliable transportation.
• Knowledge of cabling infrastructure; conduit installation a plus.
• Valid driver's license with a clean driving record; no recent DUI/DWI.

Responsibilities

• Installation, troubleshooting, and maintenance of various cabling infrastructure.
• Run low voltage cabling in commercial buildings; drill walls and limited conduit work.
• Ensure cables are neatly tied and bundled per safety regulations.
• Install cable support structures such as j-hooks, racks, and innerduct.
• Conduct tests to ensure newly installed cable systems and devices are operational.
• Troubleshoot issues with the cable network.
