Job summary

DataVox is seeking a qualified Low Voltage Security Technician to support the Building Technology Solutions Department in the Dallas–Fort Worth area. This role focuses on installing and maintaining access control, CCTV, burglar systems and related devices across multiple sites.

Ideal candidates bring 5+ years of low voltage security experience, Texas DPS license eligibility, and proficiency with Genetec or Axis platforms.

Qualifications

Texas DPS Security Installer license (or ability to obtain)
High School Diploma or GED required
2-year electronics degree preferred
5+ years Low Voltage Security Installer Technician experience required
Experience with Access Control/CCTV/Burglar systems preferred
Certifications in Genetec, Axis, Sony, Bosch; HID VertX certifications a plus
Ability to work on multiple manufacturer systems without formal training
OSHA 30 is a plus

Responsibilities

Install IP CCTV, IP Access Control, Intercom systems and subsidiary equipment
Install Access Control/VMS servers and UPS
Test installed equipment and basic programming (readers, cameras, door controllers)
Perform preventive maintenance and repairs per manufacturer procedures
Troubleshoot, diagnose and repair system/components
Complete on-site JSA and manpower reports for GC projects
Complete permit inspections
Coordinate daily site needs with management and team
Conduct site commissioning and testing with Programmer
Maintain clear communication with project manager on status
