Job summary

BLUESTONE COMMUNICATIONS is seeking an experienced Estimator to manage the low voltage estimating process for commercial construction from takeoffs to bid submission. You will prepare comprehensive estimates, analyze quotes, and ensure alignment with project requirements and margins.

Work is on-site at our Maryland location, with close collaboration with Branch Manager, engineers, and development managers. Proficiency in Accubid and online bid portals is essential; CQE is a plus.

Qualifications

• Proficiency with estimating software, such as Accubid, and experience with online bid portals.
• CQE certification is a plus.
• Proven estimating experience, particularly for low voltage components.
• Strong analytical, negotiation, and communication skills.
• Ability to review and interpret complex project plans and specifications.

Responsibilities

• Produce precise estimates of material and labor costs for low voltage elements.
• Prepare and send out accurate low voltage estimates and tender documentation.
• Analyze quotes for low voltage materials and labor costs; negotiate for value.
• Evaluate technical requirements and estimating costs to determine prices and margins.
• Create and deliver estimates/quotations to potential customers.
• Collaborate with Branch Manager, subcontractors, engineers, and development managers.
• Utilize estimating software (Accubid) and online bid portals for submissions.
• Review project plans and specifications to ensure alignment with estimates.
• Review quotes with Branch Manager and Pre-Construction Manager; identify risk mitigations.
• Identify escalation factors affecting materials and labor rates.
