Job summary

NextGen | GTA: A Kelly Telecom Company is seeking Inside Plant technicians with 1–2 years of experience in low voltage systems. You will identify pathways, pull copper/coaxial/fiber, build data closets, terminate jacks, and test installations across commercial projects.

You’ll read construction drawings, follow grounding/bonding procedures, and observe fire stopping and safety standards while supporting multiple shifts and crews at various sites.

Qualifications

  • Identify and prepare pathways and j-hook supports for new cabling system installation.
  • Pull copper, coaxial and fiber optic cable in various environments.
  • Build out data closets – install ladder rack, cable trays, data racks and rack-mount equipment.
  • Terminate data jacks at station end and install faceplates.
  • Route and dress Cat6/6A cables at the rack and terminate at patch panel.
  • Test Cat6/6A cable installations, and perform basic troubleshooting.
  • Assist with testing copper and fiber optic cable with power meter and light source (Fluke).
  • Read construction prints and identify cabling pathways, maintaining compliance with construction project specifications.
  • Comply with grounding & bonding procedures and fire stopping methods.
  • Adhere to BICSI, building code and safety standards.
