Job summary

Belcan LLC is seeking a skilled Low Voltage Cabling & Camera Installation Technician to install, maintain, and troubleshoot low-voltage infrastructure in commercial environments. The role covers structured cabling, CCTV/security cameras, access control, network equipment, and related hardware with hands-on testing and field support.

You will read blueprints, route cables, install racks, perform testing, ensure safety, and collaborate with PMs and IT staff to deliver reliable solutions.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent.
  • 2-5 years of experience in low-voltage cabling and security camera installation.
  • Experience with structured cabling installations (Cat5e/Cat6/Fiber).
  • Knowledge of CCTV, IP cameras, NVR/DVR platforms, and access control systems.
  • Ability to read blueprints, site drawings, and wiring diagrams.
  • Experience using cable testers, certification tools, and hand/power tools.
  • Valid driver's license and willingness to travel to client locations.

Responsibilities

  • Install, route, and secure low-voltage cabling including Cat5e, Cat6, Cat6A, fiber optic, and coaxial cabling.
  • Terminate cables using RJ45 connectors, patch panels, keystone jacks, and fiber connectors (LC/SC/ST).
  • Build and organize telecom racks, cabinets, and cable management systems.
  • Perform cable testing, certification, and troubleshooting using tools such as Fluke testers and tone generators.
  • Read and interpret blueprints, floor plans, and wiring schematics to plan cable pathways and device locations.
  • Run cable through walls, ceilings, conduit, trays, and outdoor routes while following building codes and safety standards.
  • Install and support low-voltage systems including network equipment, CCTV cameras, access control hardware, and A/V systems.
  • Ensure compliance with TIA/EIA cabling standards and company quality guidelines.
  • Document work through labeling, as‑built drawings, and installation notes.
  • Work with project managers, electricians, IT staff, and other trades to coordinate installation needs.
  • Provide maintenance and troubleshooting for existing cabling infrastructure.

Job Summary:

The ideal candidate should have hands‑on experience in cabling, camera installation, testing, and field support activities across commercial and enterprise environments.

Job Duties:

  • Core Responsibilities

  • Terminate cables using RJ45 connectors, patch panels, keystone jacks, and fiber connectors (LC/SC/ST).

  • Physical & On-Site Duties
  • Use ladders, lifts, power tools, and hand tools safely.
  • Maintain a clean and organized workspace.
  • Handle jobsite communication and client interactions professionally.
Key Responsibilities:
Low Voltage Cabling
  • Install, terminate, label, and test Cat5e, Cat6, Cat6A, fiber optic, and coaxial cabling.
  • Perform cable routing through conduits, ceilings, walls, and cable trays.
  • Install patch panels, racks, cabinets, and cable management systems.
  • Ensure all cabling installations comply with industry standards and customer requirements.
  • Document cabling layouts, pathways, and labeling schemes.
Camera & Security System Installation
  • Install and configure CCTV, IP cameras, NVR/DVR systems, and associated equipment.
  • Mount cameras and ensure proper positioning, focus, and coverage.
  • Configure camera connectivity, network settings, and recording parameters.
  • Test and troubleshoot video surveillance systems.
  • Support access control systems, card readers, intercoms, and security devices as required.
Network & Technical Support
  • Install and connect network switches, wireless access points, and related low-voltage equipment.
  • Perform cable certification and testing using industry-standard tools.
  • Diagnose and resolve cabling, connectivity, and camera‑related issues.
  • Coordinate with project managers, customers, and technical teams during deployments.
  • Maintain accurate installation records and completion reports.
Safety & Compliance
  • Follow company safety policies and site‑specific regulations.
  • Operate ladders, lifts, and hand/power tools safely.
  • Maintain clean and organized work areas.
  • Adhere to installation standards, quality guidelines, and project schedules.
  • Participate in transition, transformation, and process‑improvement programs.
