Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Five years of experience with cabling, equipment installation, troubleshooting, monitoring & maintenance.
  • General knowledge of wide- and local area network topologies and operation.

Responsibilities

  • Installation, termination, troubleshooting, and repair of all low-voltage and fiber cabling (category 5e, 6, and 6a copper, single- & multi-mode fiber, voice, and control cabling).
  • Properly install and maintain equipment, including racks, switches, projectors, speakers, screens, interactive whiteboards, cameras, and access points.
  • Maintain/monitor infrastructure support systems such as UPSes, backup generators, and air conditioners.
  • Diagnose equipment malfunctions.
  • Equipment life cycle records (inventory as equipment is installed or moved).
  • Perform miscellaneous job duties as assigned.

Education

High school diploma or GED
Five years of experience with cabling, equipment installation, and maintenance
General knowledge of network topologies
