Qualifications

Responsibilities

  • Work as part of a team on commercial construction projects.
  • Pull, route, and secure cable throughout commercial buildings.
  • Install cable support systems such as J-hooks, cable tray, and ladder rack.
  • Assist with the installation of communication, security, and technology infrastructure.
  • Help build and organize equipment rooms and telecommunications spaces.
  • Use hand tools and power tools safely and effectively.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe job site.
  • Follow project plans, installation standards, and safety procedures.
  • Learn industry skills and technologies through hands‑on training.

Synergy Fiber is seeking a Construction Technician / Low-Voltage Apprentice to support a commercial construction project in Ann Arbor, MI.

No prior low-voltage experience is required.

We are looking for dependable, hardworking individuals with experience in construction trades, contracting, electrical work, maintenance, landscaping, carpentry, HVAC, telecom, warehouse operations, or other hands‑on fields who are interested in learning a new skill set.

If you are comfortable working with tools, following directions, solving problems, and learning on the job, we can train you in low-voltage and structured cabling systems.

What You'll Do
  • Work as part of a team on commercial construction projects.

What We're Looking For
Preferred Backgrounds

Experience in any of the following is helpful but not required:

  • Commercial construction
  • Electrical work
  • HVAC
  • Facilities maintenance
  • Telecom or cable installation
  • General contracting
  • Warehouse or mechanical work
  • Any skilled trade
