Job summary

Jones Lang LaSalle is seeking a Low Voltage Technician to install, test and maintain low voltage systems at our Devens, MA site. You will work with data networks, access controls, CCTV, and fire alarm systems, ensuring safety and quality.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of low voltage systems and wiring techniques.
• Ability to use tools such as cable testers, multimeters, and punch-down tools.
• Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
• Ability to read technical drawings and layouts.
• Physical ability to climb ladders, lift equipment, and work in various environments.
• Good communication and teamwork skills.
• Valid driver’s license.

Responsibilities

• Install, terminate, and test low voltage cabling (Cat5e, Cat6, fiber optic, coaxial, etc.).
• Set up and maintain systems such as: door controls, readers, interlock, and other programmed components.
• Powered swing, sliding, high speed roll up doors.
• Security cameras (CCTV).
• Access control systems.
• Fire alarm systems (where permitted/licensed).
• Structured cabling and data networks.
• Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical diagrams.
• Troubleshoot and repair wiring and system issues.
• Mount and install equipment (racks, panels, devices, cameras, etc.).
• Ensure compliance with safety standards and local codes.
• Label and document installations accurately.
• Test system functionality and perform quality checks.
• Provide basic training or support to clients when needed.
