Jump Trading Group is seeking a Systems Engineer to optimize the trading environment and resolve complex system issues. You will collaborate with traders, operations, exchanges, and developers to ensure peak performance of our globally deployed platform.

The role requires strong Linux/UNIX skills, Python, and networking knowledge, with a rigorous, detail-oriented approach and ability to perform under pressure in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems or related technical field.
• Proficiency with Linux/UNIX and shell scripting.
• Hands-on Python development experience.
• Understanding of routing, multicast and Ethernet networking.
• A rigorous, detail-oriented approach to operations.
• Ability to communicate clearly under pressure.
• Collaborative team player with a positive can-do attitude.
• Reliable and predictable availability.

Responsibilities

• Proactively monitor the overall health and performance of the trading platform.
• Analyze and troubleshoot complex system, software, and networking infrastructure issues.
• Design, implement and optimize network infrastructure for low-latency trading apps across data centers worldwide.
• Build automation to manage and improve the production trading environment.
• Collaborate with risk management and trading teams to coordinate changes and manage incidents.
• Assess operational risk of change control in production.
• Define and document processes and procedures.
• Other duties as assigned or needed.
