Job summary

Jump Trading Group is seeking a Systems Engineer for the Trading Infrastructure team to optimize the trading environment, monitor system health, and resolve infrastructure issues across global data centers.

You will monitor health, troubleshoot complex issues, design and optimize network infrastructure for low-latency trading applications, automate production operations, and coordinate changes with risk and trading teams.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a related technical field.
• Advanced experience with Linux/UNIX and shell scripting.
• Practical working knowledge of Python.
• Understanding of routing, multicast, and ethernet.
• Rigorous, detail‑oriented approach to operations.

This role is a full‑time Systems Engineer position within the Trading Infrastructure organization, responsible for optimizing the trading environment, monitoring system health, and solving infrastructure issues across global data centers.

What You’ll Do

• Monitor overall health and performance of the trading platform proactively
• Analyze and troubleshoot complex system, software, and networking infrastructure issues
• Design, implement and optimize network infrastructure for proprietary low‑latency trading applications across global data centers
• Build automation to manage and improve the production trading environment
• Work with risk management and trading teams to coordinate changes and manage incidents
• Manage and assess operational risk of change control into production environment
• Define and document processes and procedures

What You Need

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, or related technical field
• Advanced experience with Linux/UNIX operating systems including advanced commands and shell scripts
• Practical working knowledge of Python
• Understanding of networking concepts including routing, multicast, and ethernet
• Rigorous, detail‑oriented approach to operations
