Job summary

McHenry Middle School in McHenry, IL, seeks a Low Incidence Paraprofessional (Adjusted Learning) to support students with special needs under the Building Principal. This 175-day, full-time position requires a current paraprofessional license and the ability to communicate clearly with staff and students.

Minimum Qualifications/Required Skills

• Current and Valid Paraprofessional License; 60 college credit hour or Work Keys Test/other ISBE requirement for obtaining Paraprofessional License.


• Ability to communicate clearly and concisely.

Responsibilities/Duties

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

• Ability to promote a safe environment including physical intervention as needed according to protocol.


• Candidates with CPI training preferred or willing to train.


• Ability to work as a cooperating member of a team and effectively communicate with students, teachers, parents and administration; Positive attitude and dependability a must.


• Willingness or experience working with young children with special needs.
