Job summary

Wichita USD 259 is seeking an Assistant Para- Low Incidence for the 2026-2027 school year. You will work under the direct supervision of a certified classroom teacher to support students with basic academic skills and ensure a safe, organized learning environment.

Responsibilities include assisting with individual and small-group lessons, helping modify activities, and aiding in data collection and classroom management while maintaining confidentiality and professionalism.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Paras working in a Title School must have a minimum of 48 accredited college credits verifiable with a transcript or pass a state approved assessment.
• Ability to communicate both verbally and in writing with students, teachers, and staff.
• Demonstrates professionalism and confidentiality in handling student information.

Responsibilities

• Assists students individually or in groups with lesson assignments.
• Provides a safe and healthy environment for students and staff.
• Directs activities to reinforce concepts for individuals or small groups.
• Assists teachers in collecting data and maintaining student performance records.
• Supports integration of technology in the classroom.
• Maintains classroom routines and supports instructional materials.
