Job summary

USD 259 is seeking a Para Sped High Incidence paraeducator for the 2026-2027 school year. You will support the classroom teacher with instructional help, behavior management, and supervision of students, including those with cognitive and communication disabilities.

The role emphasizes teamwork, confidentiality, and effective communication with parents and staff, and requires ongoing in-service training. Shift is 0.81 FTE (32.5 hours/week) with on-site duties at multiple school sites.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Possession of additional college credits is preferred.
• Ability to maintain confidentiality and communicate with staff and parents.

Responsibilities

• Supervises students in class setting as directed by the teacher.
• Assists in managing classroom routines and procedures.
• Assists in the interventions to redirect behavior and crisis de-escalation.
• Supports the teacher by supervising activities on or off campus during instruction.
• Assists in implementing student behavior plans and transitions.
• Maintains confidentiality and communicates with families and staff.
