Job summary

Sellers & Associates, LLC is seeking a versatile Low-Code / Application Developer to design, configure, and extend applications using low‑code platforms in federal DoD environments. The role requires hands‑on coding for secure integration and deployment across cloud and on‑prem systems.

The ideal candidate will contribute to the software delivery lifecycle with clean code, tests, and documentation, and support customer requirements from wireframes to prototyping. A SECRET clearance is required.

Qualifications

  • Active Secret clearance required.
  • Bachelor’s degree preferred; 6+ years of relevant experience may substitute for a degree.
  • 2–4 years building and integrating apps on low‑code platforms, preferably in government environments.
  • Expertise with Microsoft Power Platform tools: Power BI, Power Apps, Power Automate, SharePoint, Dataverse.
  • Proficiency in at least one language such as Python, JavaScript/TypeScript, C#, or PowerShell to extend and integrate apps.
  • Experience with at least one RDBMS: SQL Server, MySQL, or PostgreSQL.
  • Practical experience hosting apps or data solutions in Azure or AWS.
  • Familiarity with Git and Agile methodologies.
  • DoD IT environments, IL4/IL5/IL6 or STIGs compliance experience.

Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and deploy secure and scalable apps using low‑code platforms (Power Platform) in federal DoD environments.
  • Extend low‑code apps with custom code (front‑end, back‑end, APIs) to meet mission requirements.
  • Integrate low‑code systems into secure government environments (enterprise systems, on‑prem and cloud).
  • Collaborate with customers to gather requirements, design wireframes, build prototypes, and implement solutions.
  • Deliver features across front‑end, server logic, APIs, databases, and cloud infra.
  • Build and run test plans including unit and integration tests for reliability.
  • Write clean, documented code focused on testability and quality.
  • Integrate and manage databases (SQL Server, Dataverse, Redis) and ensure data integrity.
  • Use Git for version control and code collaboration.
  • Partner with cross‑functional teams to deliver secure, functional applications.

Position Overview:

We are seeking a versatile and detail-oriented Low-Code / Application Developer to join our team in Washington, D.C., San Diego, C.A., or Plant City, F.L.

This full-time position requires a hands‑on developer who can design, configure, and extend applications using low-code and commercial off‑the‑shelf (COTS) platforms, while also bringing hands‑on coding ability to integrate, customize, and secure solutions within government environments.

The ideal candidate will have experience with secure application development, a passion for writing clean, testable code, and an eye for quality throughout the software delivery lifecycle.

Experience Level: MID

Travel: 0 - 10%

Clearance: SECRET

Responsibilities:

  • Design, develop, and deploy secure and scalable applications primarily using low‑code platforms such as Microsoft Power Platform (Power Apps, Power BI, Power Automate, Dataverse) in a federal/DoD environment.
  • Extend low‑code apps with custom code when needed (front‑end, back‑end, APIs) to meet mission‑specific requirements.
  • Integrate low‑code systems into secure government environments (enterprise systems, on‑prem databases, and cloud services).
  • Work with customers to gather and analyze requirements, design wireframes, build prototypes, and implement solutions.
  • Deliver features across front‑end interfaces, server‑side logic, APIs, databases, and cloud infrastructure.
  • Build and execute test plans, unit tests, and integration tests to ensure functional reliability and system integrity.
  • Write clear, maintainable, and well‑documented code with a focus on testability and code quality.
  • Integrate and manage databases (e.g., SQL Server, Dataverse, Redis) and ensure data integrity.
  • Use Git version control to manage code collaboration.
  • Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to support secure, functional, and intuitive applications.

Required Qualifications:

  • Active Secret clearance required
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field is preferred. A minimum of 6 years of total, relevant professional experience may be substituted in lieu of a degree.
  • 2-4 years of building and integrating applications on low‑code platforms, preferably in government environments.
  • Expertise withMicrosoft Power Platform tools like Power BI, Power Apps, Power Automate, SharePoint, and Dataverse.
  • Proficiency with at least one modern scripting/programming language such as Python, JavaScript/TypeScript, C#, or PowerShell to extend and integrate low‑code applications.
  • Experience with at least one RDBMS, including SQL query writing, such as SQL Server, MySQL, or PostgreSQL.
  • Practical experience developing and hosting applications or data solutions in Azure or AWS.
  • Familiarity with Git for source control and team‑based development workflows.
  • Strong understanding of software testing principles, debugging techniques, and QA best practices.
  • Attention to detail, excellent problem‑solving skills, and commitment to delivering high‑quality solutions.
  • Understanding of Jira / Agile methodology.
  • Experience working within DoD IT environments, including IL4/IL5/IL6 systems or compliance with DoD STIGs and security controls.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Familiarity with a modern front‑end framework such as React or Angular.
  • Familiarity with a modern back‑end framework such as .NET or ExpressJS.
  • Experience with RESTful API development, third‑party service integration, and data flow orchestration.
  • Experience with DevOps and CI/CD tools like GitHub Actions, Docker, and Kubernetes
  • Previous experience working on government contracts or secure software environments.
  • Familiarity with Naval Sea Systems Command (NAVSEA), and/or U.S. Navy.
  • Agile certifications such as Certified ScrumMaster (CSM), Professional Scrum Master (PSM I/II), SAFe Scrum Master (SSM), or PMI Agile Certified Practitioner (PMI-ACP)
  • One or more industry‑standard IT certifications, such as CompTIA, Microsoft, Amazon
  • Familiarity with Risk Management Framework and/or Authority to Operate (ATO) processes and procedures.
