Job summary

Tallgrass is seeking a Manager–Business Development (Low Carbon) to drive growth in the company’s low-carbon portfolio. The role focuses on tax credit monetization, market development, and project evaluation across Tallgrass assets.

You will conduct detailed financial analyses, build models, and prepare commercial proposals for strategic opportunities. Ideal candidates will have five+ years in energy, strong Excel/PowerPoint skills, and a track record of negotiating complex commercial terms.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Business, Engineering or related discipline required.
• Minimum five years in energy operations, business development, or related field.
• Intermediate proficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).

Responsibilities

• Develop understanding of low-carbon tax credits (e.g., 45Q, 45Z) and related structures.
• Build expertise in tax credit monetization, transferability, and tax equity.
• Coordinate with marketing partners to position 45Z credits in the market.
• Review and negotiate tax credit transfer agreements to optimize value.
• Assist with procurement of insurance products for tax credits.
• Develop knowledge of voluntary carbon market and CDR credits.
• Support development and evaluation of sustainability opportunities across Tallgrass assets.
• Prepare reports and presentations for joint ventures and internal stakeholders.
