Job summary

Midwest Renewable Energy, LLC is seeking an agricultural professional to lead corn procurement for its ethanol facility near Sutherland, Nebraska. You will develop relationships with area producers, oversee regenerative agriculture and low-carbon feedstock programs, and ensure compliant producer documentation.

You will negotiate purchases, monitor market conditions, coordinate with operations and accounting, and help forecast procurement needs while expanding co-product sales with livestock

Qualifications

• Experience in grain procurement or related agricultural activities.
• Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to build lasting relationships with farmers and customers.
• Knowledge of regenerative agriculture and low-carbon feedstock programs is preferred.
• Strong organizational, communication, negotiation, and computer skills.
• Ability to manage multiple responsibilities and maintain accurate records.

Responsibilities

• Purchase corn for MRE’s ethanol facility, emphasizing long-term relationships with producers supplying qualifying low-carbon corn.
• Work with farmers to understand agricultural practices, including tillage, fertilizer application, cover crops, and crop rotation.
• Coordinate collection and maintenance of producer records required for regenerative agriculture and low-carbon programs.
• Negotiate grain purchases, monitor market conditions, and assist with procurement planning and forecasting.
• Manage co-product sales (wet distillers grains and syrup) and develop relationships with livestock producers, feedlots, dairies, and brokers.
• Coordinate with plant management, operations, accounting, and outside consultants to support procurement, documentation, and compliance.
