Job Responsibilities:
  • Efficiently and accurately takes and delivers food and beverage orders in a timely and friendly manner.
  • Handles cash and credit transactions accurately and efficiently.
  • Provides appropriate change to guests.
  • Proactively seeks guest opportunities and anticipates guest’s needs to create “magical moments”.
  • Interact with guests in a friendly manner while taking food and beverage orders, including up-selling.
  • Maintains assigned areas by keeping them clean and free of debris throughout the shift.
  • Identifies opportunities to upsell and influences guest’s decisions through product knowledge and enthusiasm for the sale.
  • Maintain knowledge and terminology of beer, wine, spirits, and non-alcoholic beverages.
  • Be familiar with domestic and imported beers, different types of wine, brand name spirits and garnishments.
  • Maintain solid knowledge of all food products.
  • Delivering and presenting food and beverages to guests.
  • Clearing, cleaning and resetting of tables.
  • Knowledgeable about menu offerings and able to answer guests’ inquiries.
  • Working knowledge of designated glassware, ingredients, and preparation of each drink.
  • Maintain product inventory and supplies throughout shift.
  • Ensure the service area is properly set up at the beginning of the shift and close the service area at the end of the shift in accordance with Company standards.
  • Ensure receipt of accurate payments, balance cash drawer during shift, and maintain security and accuracy of bank.
  • Maintain regular attendance at scheduled shift and staff meetings.
  • Consistently uses all beverage and bar equipment, cleaning, and sanitizing products in accordance with all SDS sheets and departmental standards.
  • Ensures proper food handling and product procedures are followed, including wrapping, labeling, dating, stocking, storing, rotating, and checking temperature of products as required.
  • Assists with a variety of dining outlet functions including bussing and cleaning of tables, delivering and presenting food and beverages to guests.
Education and Experience:
  • High school diploma or its equivalent.
  • Must be 21 years of age or older.
  • Must pass all required pre-screening and background checks.
  • Must pass department certifications with 80% or better.
  • Internal candidates must meet the eligibility requirements as provided in the Transfer and Promotion policy.
  • Ability to work a variety of shifts, including day, swing, late-night, weekend, and holiday shifts as scheduled.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a valid Kentucky gaming/racing license.
