Job summary

The Pfister Hotel in downtown Milwaukee is seeking a guest-focused server to deliver warm, attentive service in our Lobby Lounge. You will guide guests through food and beverage menus, make personalized recommendations, and help create memorable experiences for every guest.

Ideal candidates have hospitality experience, strong communication, and thrive in a fast-paced setting. Availability for evenings, weekends, and holidays is required.

Responsibilities

• Greet guests warmly and guide them through the menu in The Pfister Hotel Lobby Lounge.
• Take accurate food and beverage orders; serve cocktails, wine, beer, and menu items.
• Demonstrate knowledge of menu items, seasonal features, and wine/cocktail pairings.
• Maintain high hospitality standards and anticipate guest needs throughout service.
• Collaborate with bartenders, hosts, and kitchen staff to ensure a clean, organized dining area.

What you will be doing

• Deliver warm, attentive service by greeting guests, guiding them through food and beverage menus, and creating memorable experiences in The Pfister Hotel's Lobby Lounge.

• Take accurate food and beverage orders, serve cocktails, wine, beer, and menu offerings, and ensure each guest receives prompt and professional service.

• Demonstrate knowledge of menu items, seasonal features, specialty cocktails, and wine selections to make personalized recommendations and enhance the guest experience.

• Monitor guest satisfaction throughout service, anticipate needs, resolve concerns, and maintain the high standards of hospitality expected at a luxury hotel.

• Collaborate with bartenders, hosts, culinary team members, and fellow servers to maintain a clean, organized, and efficient dining environment.

Position Requirements

• A passion for hospitality and creating exceptional guest experiences through friendly, engaging service.

• Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to connect with guests from diverse backgrounds.

• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment while maintaining professionalism, attention to detail, and a positive attitude.

• Availability to work evenings, weekends, holidays, and special events as business demands require.

• Previous serving, restaurant, bar, or hospitality experience is preferred; knowledge of food, wine, beer, and cocktails is a plus.
