Overview

The Lounge Bartender will take orders, prepare, and serve alcoholic, non-alcoholic beverages, and light meals to guests, courteously and efficiently according to hotel specifications. He/she will also maintain stock/supplies and cleanliness of the outlet and equipment.

Key Duties & Responsibilities

• Monitor and maintain cleanliness, sanitation, and organization of assigned work areas.
• Maintain complete knowledge of all menu items, liquor brands, beers, and non-alcoholic selections available in the outlet.
• Strictly abide by state liquor regulations, particularly those prohibiting service to minors, intoxicated persons, and drunk driving.
• Obtain assigned bank and ensure accuracy of contracted monies; keep bank secure.
• Maintain complete knowledge of P.O.S. and manual systems.
• Greet guests and take their orders (food and beverage), utilizing suggestive/up-selling techniques.
• Input orders into system and verify transmission.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of tables, service areas, and outlet.
• Present guest checks and process payments, adhering to cash handling policies.
• Clean and reset tables immediately after guests depart.
• Report tips at the end of shift.
• Use chemicals per OSHA and hotel regulations.
• Complete closing reports in the P.O.S. system.
• Document maintenance needs on work orders.

Education and Experience

• High School Diploma or GED or equivalent.
• Minimum 21 years old to serve alcohol.
• 1-year experience as a Server or Barback preferred.
• Good understanding of English.
• Knowledge of drink recipes and service standards.
• Certification in liquor, wine, and food service training.
• Alcohol awareness certification.
• CPR certification.
• Ability to operate property management and POS systems.
• Guest/customer relations training.
• Outgoing personality with positive energy, knowledgeable about the area.
