Job summary

Crestline Hotels & Resorts is seeking a Lounge Bartender to expertly prepare and serve beverages and light meals, while upholding safety, sanitation, and hotel standards. The role involves greeting guests, taking and inputting orders, and using suggestive selling to enhance guest experiences.

The ideal candidate has basic beverage knowledge, strong English, and a willingness to learn state regulations. Past POS experience and CPR/alcohol-awareness certifications are a plus in this on-site hotel

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED or equivalent.
• Minimum of 21 years of age to serve alcoholic beverages.
• 1-year experience as a Server or Barback preferred but not required.
• Good understanding of the English language.
• Knowledge of drink recipes and beverage service standards.
• Certification of liquor, wine, and food service training.
• Certification in an alcohol awareness program.
• CPR certification.
• Ability to input data in property management/POS systems.

Responsibilities

• Monitor and maintain cleanliness, sanitation and organization of the assigned work areas.
• Maintain knowledge of menu items, liquor brands, beers and non-alcoholic selections.
• Abide by state liquor regulations, especially regarding minors and intoxicated persons.
• Input orders and ensure transmission verification by Bartender/Kitchen.
• Greet guests and take orders, utilizing up-selling techniques.
• Process payments and handle cash per policies.
• Maintain tables and service areas; clean and reset as needed.
• Document maintenance needs and report to Manager.

Overview

The Lounge Bartender will take orders, prepare, and serve alcoholic, non-alcoholic beverages and light meals to guests, courteously and efficiently according to hotel specifications. He/she also will maintain stock/supplies and cleanliness of outlet and equipment.

Key Duties & Responsibilities

• Monitor and maintain cleanliness, sanitation, and organization of assigned work areas.
• Maintain complete knowledge of all menu items, liquor brands, beers, and non-alcoholic selections available in the assigned outlet.
• Maintain complete knowledge of and strictly abide by state liquor regulations, particularly those prohibiting service to minors, intoxicated persons, and drunk driving.
• Obtain assigned bank and ensure accuracy of contracted monies.
• Always keep bank secure.
• Maintain complete knowledge of P.O.S. and manual systems.
• Greet guests and take their orders (food and beverage), utilizing suggestive/up-selling techniques.
• Input orders into system and ensure transmission is verified by Bartender/Kitchen.
• Monitor and maintain cleanliness, sanitation and organization of tables, service areas and outlet itself.
• Present guest checks and process payments through the Bartender/Cashier. Adhere to all cash handling and credit policies/procedures.
• Clean and reset tables immediately after guests depart.
• Collect and report tips at the end of assigned shift.
• Use all chemicals in accordance with OSHA regulations and Hotel requirements.
• Complete all closing reports in the P.O.S. system.
• Legibly document maintenance needs on work orders and submit to Manager.

Education And Experience

• High School Graduate or General Education Degree (GED): or Work Equivalent.
• Minimum of 21 years of age to serve alcoholic beverages.
• 1-year experience as a Server or Barback preferred but not required.
• Must have good understanding of the English language.
• Knowledge of various drink recipes and beverage service standards.
• Certification of previous training in liquor, wine, and food service.
• Certification in an alcohol awareness program.
• Certification in CPR.
• Ability to input and access information in the property management system/computers/point of sales system.
• Previous guest/customer relations training.
