Job summary

Crew Life at Sea Ltd. in Miami, FL is seeking an experienced AV technician to install, maintain, and troubleshoot audiovisual equipment in lounges and event spaces on ships or in hotels.

The role covers sound, lighting, and video gear to ensure smooth operations for activities. The candidate should have at least 3 years of experience, a high school diploma or equivalent, and preferably a technical AV certification.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; technical degree or certification in audiovisual technology preferred.
• Minimum of 3 years of experience in a similar role, preferably in a cruise ship or hotel setting.
• Strong knowledge of audiovisual equipment, including sound systems, lighting systems, and video equipment.
• Familiarity with various software and systems used in audiovisual technology.
• Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.

Responsibilities

• Install, maintain, and troubleshoot audiovisual equipment in our lounges, including but not limited to sound systems, lighting systems, and video equipment
• Perform routine maintenance and repairs on equipment to ensure optimal performance
• Conduct regular inspections to identify any potential issues and address them in a timely manner
• Coordinate with other departments to ensure all equipment is set up and functioning properly for events and activities
• Keep inventory of all equipment and supplies and order replacements as needed
• Stay up-to-date with industry trends and advancements in technology to make recommendations for equipment upgrades
• Train and supervise junior technicians and provide guidance and support as needed
